the question everyone asks

explain pickle rick

what it is

Rick Sanchez turns himself into a pickle. That is the whole premise. He does it to get out of a family therapy appointment, having engineered a situation where he physically cannot attend, because he is a pickle.

It is from Rick and Morty, season three, episode three, first broadcast in 2017 and simply titled “Pickle Rick”. The episode was written by Jessica Gao, who won an Emmy for it.

why anyone still mentions it

Because the joke is a whole argument. Rick spends the episode building increasingly elaborate machinery to avoid a twenty-minute conversation about himself, and the therapist calls it exactly what it is: he would rather do something impossibly difficult than something merely uncomfortable.

why it is on Staffroom

Because the thing you are turning around is a real object — thirty-six thousand triangles swept along a bent spine, cel-shaded and inked live in your browser — and you understood its shape in about a second by dragging it, which took no explanation at all.

That is the entire argument for this site. Go and find one about something you need.
